Year 8 Mexican Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls
Spring term year 8, our students are able to explore three dimensional sculpture. Here, year 8 students have built life-size skulls out of papier mache. Following research and analysis lessons surrounding the origins of Mexican Day of the Dead 'Día de Muertos', our students then design their own skulls. Pupils are encouraged to represent their own personalities, talents and hobbies through their designs and are able to apply their design using mixed media. Watercolour, poster paint, acrylic paint, tissue paper, cardboard, sequins, and even glitter were used in order to really get creative.
